Welcome to Kindergarten I am so glad you are here! We will have a lot of fun learning online together.

Students will use their whole body for learning. There is a creative element to this course, as well as academics. Students will learn letters, letter sounds, write alphabetical letters; students will learn a new letter song each class, as well as a new dance, students do projects that go along way that match with each letter. Students will also work on memorizing sight words to help them learn to read. Each week students will receive a printable book they can color and read the sight words. Students will create a video saying the letters and letter sounds.

We will work on the days of the week and months of the year. Students will create a calendar. We will learn about the seasons, the difference between night and day.

Students will learn their numbers up to twenty, and they will learn how to read and write them and learn how to count one to one correspondence. Students will learn number songs, and a number dance too.

Students will also have fun creating a project each week. Students will learn how to add single-digit numbers 1-9. Students will also learn how to use a ten frame when doing addition problems.
Lessons will be videotaped and sent to parents, but it does not stop there. Activities for students will be in google slides and google classroom for students to click on and interact with each other and me. I will reach out to students and parents daily Monday through Friday. To answer any questions you might have.

Although this class is done on your own schedule it is nice to build a community atmosphere so students will be asked to introduce themselves. Parents you may want to start a portfolio of your students work. Several videos of your child saying the days of the week, months of the year, counting, reading the sight words, will need to be sent to my email.
