We will start by reading the book Frindle, then Fish in a Tree, and Tiger Rising. In addition to reading and doing novel studies we will also work on writing poetry and learning the different types of poems. Students will video tape themselves reading their poems and submit their videos each week. Students will learn typing skills and computer short cut keys. Students will also learn how to write in cursive.

Math students will design a board game that we will play throughout the course answering math questions with word problems, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We will discuss each other’s board games and students will share their answers. We will also do a digital online math escape room students will submit their answers and to get a clue to move on to the next part of the project.

Students will do a video presentation to share with the rest of the class what they learned.

For Science students will create a science project using the scientific method.
